The Rathdrum Minis section is one of the busiest in the club. We have increased our numbers dramatically over the past few years and have over 130 boys and girls playing every weekend, with the emphasis on fun and safety. Starting at U5s with our Leprechaun Rugby, a focus on fundamental movement skills and enjoyment is key. We then have teams in all other age grades from U7 to U12s - building on their fundamental movement skills, age appropriate rugby skills, technique and (most importantly!) having fun playing a team sport along the way. We are a family focused club and want to ensure all children in our community have access to play rugby.  This is reflected in our highly competitive family membership rates for multiple children becoming members of the club.

We are always looking for parents to get involved as coaches so please reach out if interested.  No experience is necessary and we will cover the costs of Leinster Branch coaching courses that run frequently throughout the year.  We also have plenty of experienced coaches that will help guide you.  We look forward to welcoming you to Rathdrum Rugby Club.

All teams can be mixed (boys and girsl) at these age grades, but should we have the requisite numbers for a separate girls team, we can enter them into their own girls only league.  This is a growth area for the club and the more girls we can get playing rugby, the more girls teams we will be able establish.

We have Minis teams at the following age grades at present:

Under 9 - mixed (boys and girls)

Under 10 - mixed (boys and girls)

Under 11 - boys team and a girls team.
